Apple Pie Oatmeal Recipe

While this may not taste exactly like an apple pie slice with a scoop of ice cream, the flavors should be fairly similar. It has so many warm spices in it like ginger, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg with a pinch of salt. And don’t worry the apples and honey make it a little sweet along with the yogurt. Speaking of Greek yogurt, the apples and almonds give this meal extra protein.

It goes so well with a cup of tea or cup of coffee. Plus, it has apples and apples are so good for your stomach. So are the spices really… and the yogurt. So there is that!

How To Make This Super Yummy Delicious Apple Pie Recipe

Let’s make this delicious apple pie oatmeal recipe!

Step 1

Dice up the apples and place them in a pan (think like large sauce pan). If you want the extra calories or fat you can add your pat of butter or olive oil here, but I generally don’t.

Step 2

Add your dry oats and water and cook slowly on low to medium heat.

Step 3

Add a healthy dash or two of your spices: ginger, nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon. I usually go a little heavier with the cinnamon.

Note:

By dash I mean a healthy shake from your seasoning shakers.

Step 4

Add 1-2 tablespoons of honey to sweeten up your oatmeal. You can omit this if you are avoiding sugars.

Step 5

Cook until the water is gone and your oatmeal is thick and soft.

Step 6

Add the oats to the bowl and then add 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt on top.

Note:

My husband prefers vanilla Greek yogurt, but you can use plain if you want.

Step 7

Add a small handful of almonds on top.

Note:

I’m terrible about not measuring, so I’m sorry. I usually pinch a small amount with my fingers rather than dipping my whole hand in the almond bag.

You will feel so full and great after trying this apple pie oatmeal!

How To Make Sweet Tasting Oatmeal?

What Does Oatmeal With Apples Do For Your Health?

Well, oatmeal is great source of fiber which can help you stay regular. Plus, it can help lower your cholesterol if that’s something you’re concerned with, and a great prebiotic. Adding an apple with your oatmeal not only adds more fiber, sweetens it, but is also good for your gut health.

Plus, it adds vitamins like vitamin A, B, C, and E to your meal along with some minerals.
