Homemaking For God

Adventures of Biblical Homemaking and Drawing Closer to God.

Ready for something controversial? Here it is…Christians should not support abortion. Abortion and Christianity is the hot topic of today’s. I’m not going to get political, as much as I enjoy a good civil and sometimes passionate debate, this is not the place for it. Instead, I want to talk about abortion and Christianity together as a whole.

Christians should not support abortions, many with his baby- Homemaking For God
Christians should be supporting women having babies, not supporting abortion.

Christians Should Not Support Abortion

In recent days, I know you’ve all heard the decision for Roe vs Wade. I know some of you may be outraged that the states have the right to decide and some are excited. But one thing stuck out to me.

Well actually a couple things. But the one I want to focus on is how many Christians were at the pro choice protests. How vehement and even venomous some of them were and it surprised me.

Grant it, not all were like that. But I still wonder what these self-proclaimed Christians were doing there.

Progressive Christianity And Abortion

Them being “new age” or “progressive Christian” is the biggest reason they were there. They tend to focus on the peace and love to the extreme and disregard the rest of God’s word so they don’t have to change their politics and ideals. They want paradise in heaven, but they don’t want to follow God’s word.

Now, I don’t say this to be hateful, but it’s the truth and I say it out of love, though to some of you it may seem more like tough love. We are meant to be kind, not nice.

Progressive Christianity is not Christianity. It’s a sickness that’s been spreading since the beginning, I believe starting with the Romans, and progressing especially in our country where hedonism, depravity, and nihilism are the new gods.

You Shouldn’t Support Abortion If You’re A Christian

Biblical reasons why Christians shouldn't be supporting abortions.
Biblical reasons you should not support abortion if you are a follower of God.

I’m gonna say it. You shouldn’t support abortion if you’re a Christian. I’ll tell you the reasons why.

1. God Knew You Before He Formed You In The Womb

God knew you before you were even conceived. Think about that, God knew and wanted you and had a purpose for you, even before your mother and father came together as one.

What Bible verse backs this up?

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Yes, God was talking to Jeremiah, but do you not think the same is for you? God knew everyone before He created us.

2. We Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

We are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. Nothing is hidden from God, He, knowing we are not perfect, still sees substance in us, all of us.

Psalm 139:13-16

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are their works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in they book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”

3. God Made Us In His Image

We are all made in God’s image. Let that sink in, our glorious God made us in His perfect image.

Genesis 1:26

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Genesis 1:27

“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him: male and female created He them.”

4. We Were Created By Him For Him

God doesn’t make mistakes. When God creates things, animals, people, He creates them with a purpose.

Colossians 1:15-18

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.”

5. God Has A Plan For All Of Us

God doesn’t just create people all willy nilly. He has a plan for every single one of us.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plan I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Why Do These Bible Verses Matter When It Comes To Christians Supporting Abortion

God has created us in HIs image for Him with a plan, Bible, Homemaking For God
God has created us in His image with a plan for our lives.

These Bible verses matter. It shows that God knows us before we are born. It shows that He individually makes each of us. That He made us in His perfect image and we are made by Him for Him and He has a plan. For all of us.

Now, if you’re a Christian, this alone should help you understand how significant and sacred life is. God considers an unborn baby a life. It is a life in His image that He has plans for and at that point aborting it, is in fact murder.

Which we know is one of the Ten Commandments, which is still relevant as a Christian.

Why Are We Surprised At The State Of Things?

There are many signs of decline in the US. The rampant depravity, the devaluation of life and family, the failing education, the lack of morals and virtues and the lack of love for our neighbor, are all signs of a failing country. These same things took place in Rome.

Abortion and the need for it at demand is a sign of this depravity and devaluation of life. The verses above show that it is murder considering how God views us.

And what happens when we don’t follow God’s laws? Think back to the Bible, what always happened to the Israelites when they worshiped other gods and followed their practices, which included killing babies and children?

Their countries failed. God allowed other people to conquer them, destroy their cities, there were famines, illnesses, etc.

God is still a wrathful God who expects us to follow His laws and will let us fail as we are seeing today.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Proverbs 14:34

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

Psalm 9:17

The wicked shall return to Sheol, all the nations that forget God.

The destruction of our communities, families, and nation is another reason why Christians should not support abortion.

What About Rape/Incest Victims?

The church has to step up to help rape victims and abused victims.
The church has to step up to help rape victims and abused victims.

This is the biggest argument supporters of abortion make, though they’re more concerned about it on demand if you press further in most cases. I will say this argument does make me pause. Because while abortions for this reason are less than 1 percent… it still brings up a moral conundrum.

I have gone through this, and I know how horrifying and how destructive and painful it can be on someone. It took me almost a decade to heal from what happened to me. So I do understand the pain, and I will say I am still weary of strange men and being alone with men I don’t know.

However, I had made the choice if I had gotten pregnant from what happened that I would not get rid of it. I was in no position to keep it as a child as my family was extremely poor, I would have given it up for adoption. Which is an option as there is over a 60% adoption rate for babies within a month of them being born.

That being said, I personally don’t think we should be committing a sin because of a sin. I know that becoming pregnant because of the evil action of someone can be too much for some, but this is why I think:

1. The Church Needs To Step Up

A lot of churches have great counseling services, but there needs to be more available to rape victims. I feel most are dedicated to marriage and behavioral problems. It is our job as the church to come together to take care of the widows, the fatherless, and the downtrodden.

If churches don’t have to pay taxes, then more money needs to go to helping take care of the victims and lead them to resources to either adopt or help them keep it without pressure and judgment.

WE AS A CHURCH HAVE TO STAND UP AND ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF EXPECTING SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT.

2. Look For Resources That Are Available, Victims Are Not Alone

There are so many resources, but most people don’t know where to look. Did you know in Texas, TexasDPS has Victim Services?

And there are more places online like:

If you go to your local police department they will also be able to give you resources for help. Also going to the hospital after there are resources, including those to help prevent pregnancy, like Plan B (which is not an abortion pill.)

3. Communities Need To Come Together

Communities need to have stronger ties. This is why I say it’s important for strong communities. Having people stop by to check on you, cry with you, or even bring you a meal means the world when you feel alone. And sometimes you do want to be alone, but knowing you have someone to turn to means the world. And even if you don’t want the world to know your business, this is where close families are important and why keeping a strong family together is important.

4. Our Society Needs To Stop With Frivolous Movements

The Me Too movement hurt a lot of progress when it came to helping victims of sexual abuse or sexual assault. The sudden believe all women showed that not all women were honest and in our society we are seeing this abused more and more. This hurts actual victims of sexual assault. Don’t cry wolf, unless there is really a wolf.

5. Harsher Punishments For Rapists and Abusers

Rapists and abusers are given slaps on the wrists in a lot of states and honestly, are usually not in prison long enough. A number of rapists are also repeat offenders, meaning when they get out they’re going to do it again.

Thou Shall Not Murder

Embracing sin and breaking the 10 commandments is another reason Christians should not support abortion. Because it is murder. The 10 Commandments are still important today as a Christian. Jesus told us to love God with all our heart and soul, and to love one another as we love ourselves. That includes the unborn. The unborn, is still a life, a whole separate person.

And the Bible specifically tells us not to murder. Just because you refuse to acknowledge a life, doesn’t make it expendable. As a Christian, you should know better.

Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual warfare and a thing the West tends to ignore. It is another reason we should not be supporting abortions.
Spiritual warfare and a thing the West tends to ignore. It is another reason we should not be supporting abortions.

Another reason Christians should not support abortion is because of spiritual warfare and ware with the flesh. You know everything we deal with has to do with spiritual warfare.

Ephesians 6:12

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

When you are aborting babies, this in itself is evil. Child sacrifice is talked about in the Bible, and while you may not be praying to some evil deity, your actions do open those spiritual doors. Keep that in mind while you’re promoting this.

You are helping your sisters in Christ to stumble (Romans 14:13) and allowing them to open themselves up for evil.

Promoting Abortion Is Keeping Women Down

God made women beautiful and strong and powerful. We are made to thrive at home, in adversity, we are our husbands helper in both a soft way and a battle way.

When you tell a woman, she needs an abortion so she can live her life, you’re bringing women down. A child is not something you toss away because things will be difficult. Women since the beginning of time have had to survive hardship, but that gives them the goal to do great things.

Many women have had kids and have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams, because of having a baby.

When you tell a woman her life is over because she is having a child, you are bringing her down to failure. That’s cruel and wrong. God has a plan for all of us, and for you to tell someone they have no chance because they’re pregnant, is beyond wrong.

This is another reason Christians should not support abortion. God made women to be amazing and to bear children, to say otherwise is cruel and demeaning to women.

God Loves Us All Including Those Not Born

God loves us all, even those not born yet. A woman holding baby feet- homemaking for God
God loves us all, even those not born yet.

God has created all of us and loves us, including those He created in the whom. For us to say we love God, we have to love people, and that includes babies whether they’re in the womb or outside of the womb. Don’t become jaded and fall into the trap of this world. You are to stand against this world and the flesh, not give into it in the most depraved ways.

Romans 12:2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

I pray, if you’re a Christian and you don’t know where you stand on this topic or you are supporting this, that God softens your heart so that you can really see Him because Christians should not support abortion.
