Baking Soda Paste

I actually learned about this home remedy from my neighbor back in 2017. I live in Texas and that means fire ants. And for some reason fire ants love me. My husband could go out in the yard to do yard work and he was always left alone. I got out and within minutes they’re attacking me.

One day, I had about 40 stings on my feet and legs and was obviously super sad. I was complaining to my friend who suggested using a baking soda paste and told me how to make it. And needless to say I was off! I put it on and left it there for a little bit and lo and behold no fire ant blisters the next day and less pain. It was amazing.

Side Effects Of Using A Baking Soda Paste

Baking soda can alter the PH balance of your skin. This can cause your skin to become irritated and dry. Also, when your skins PH balance is out of whack it can cause metabolic alkalosis.

What is metabolic alkalosis?

This happens when the blood becomes way too alkaline. It’s when there is an overabundance of bicarbonate in the blood or when your blood becomes less acidic. So don’t use the baking soda paste too often and limit how much you use. That means put a little dab on the affected areas and don’t slather it across a limb.
