And these chocolate chip cookies are the absolute best. No, seriously! The cookie part is rich and not overly sweet, and the chips are rich and bring that sweetness.

Ingredients Needed To Make The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever

I 100% forgot to lay out the egg, but you need an egg for this chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Optional

This is my favorite way to make my cookies.

How To Make The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever:

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350F and grease a pan.

Step 2

Add the flour, baking soda, and salt into one bowl.

Step 3

Add a stick of room temperature butter in another bowl and whisk vigorously with a fork.

Mix the brown sugar, white sugar, butter, vanilla, and egg in one bowl.
Step 4

Add the egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and white sugar and beat until the butter mixture is fluffy.

Add the flour to the wet mixture 1/2 cup at a time.
Step 5

Add flour mixture in 1/2 cup at a time, do not over mix. Just mix until the flour is incorporated.

Once the flour is mixed add the chocolate chips.
Step 6

Add the chocolate chips and fold them in, don’t overmix here either.

Scoop the finished dough into balls and put them on a baking tray to bake.
Step 7

Stick them in the oven and they should be done in 12-13 minutes (if they’re larger cookies.) 8-10 minutes if they’re smaller cookies.

Step 8

Let them sit for a few minutes before eating or they’ll fall apart.

Step 9

Grab a cup of milk, coffee, tea, or scoop of ice cream and enjoy.

Optional:

I make bigger cookies and this recipe ends up with about 20 cookies. If I make smaller cookies I can make about 28-30.

Notes:

The butter must have time to sit out and be at room temperature. Heating it up in the microwave or using melted butter still makes good cookies, but they don’t have that fluffy tollhouse quality.
