Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350F and grease your baking pan.
- Add the flour, baking soda, and salt into one bowl.
- Add a stick of room temperature butter in another bowl and whisk vigorously with a fork.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and white sugar and beat until the butter mixture is fluffy.
- Add flour mixture in 1/2 cup at a time, do not over mix. Just mix until the flour is incorporated.
- Add the chocolate chips and fold them in, don't overmix here either.
- Stick them in the oven and they should be done in 12-13 minutes (if they're larger cookies.) 8-10 minutes if they're smaller cookies.
- Let them sit for a few minutes before eating or they'll fall apart
- Grab a cup of milk, coffee, tea, or scoop of ice cream and enjoy.
Notes
The butter must have time to sit out and be at room temperature. Heating it up in the microwave or using melted butter still makes good cookies, but they don't have that fluffy tollhouse quality.
Also, if you use salted butter, don't add salt or your cookies will taste salty.
