Chocolate chip cookies are a classic sweet dessert. Nothing is more nostalgic and comforting than a warm gooey cookie and a cold glass of milk.

I don’t think we need a ton of sweets in our lives, but sweets are great during the hardest times in our lives. A little sweet treat can make the hardest day just a little better.

These chocolate chip cookies are sweet because of the chocolate, but the cookie part isn't overly sweet. Perfect.

Scoop the finished dough into balls and put them on a baking tray to bake.
Step 7

Stick them in the oven and they should be done in 12-13 minutes (if they’re larger cookies.) 8-10 minutes if they’re smaller cookies.

Step 8

Let them sit for a few minutes before eating or they’ll fall apart.

Step 9

Grab a cup of milk, coffee, tea, or scoop of ice cream and enjoy.

Optional:

I make bigger cookies and this recipe ends up with about 20 cookies. If I make smaller cookies I can make about 28-30.

Notes:

The butter must have time to sit out and be at room temperature. Heating it up in the microwave or using melted butter still makes good cookies, but they don’t have that fluffy tollhouse quality.
