Easter is around the corner and that means we need some great Easter meal ideas! The family is getting together to worship and to celebrate the fact that Jesus has risen and afterwards we are going to enjoy a big meal. My family doesn’t celebrate Easter involving the rabbit and eggs and all that silliness. Rather, we focus on the fact Jesus has risen. And before any of you decide to try to come at me about Easter and paganism, read this. And there are plenty of other articles out there as well.
Now, once my family finishes worshipping and celebrating Jesus we gather for a delicious meal. Everyone usually brings at least one thing and so it’s kind of a pot luck? Either way, if you’re looking for some Easter meal ideas because you’re hosting Easter this year, I got you! From appetizers, to entrees, and desserts, I got plenty of Easter meal ideas the entire family will love.
Easter Appetizers and Finger Foods
Before the meal, we often snack. People will bring various trays, but there are so many you can put together yourself to save money or delicious finger foods you can make to stave off the hunger while everyone waits for dinner.
1. Cheeseball Recipe Recipe

My mom always made cheeseballs for holidays and they’re so good. You can dip veggies in them, chips, or even crackers. You can make your cheeseball savory or sweet. Whatever you want.
2. Veggie Tray Recipe

My family also did a veggie tray. We would cut up various vegetables like celery, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, green onions, and have a dip like homemade ranch. We could all use a little extra veggies in our diet.
3. Devilled Eggs Recipe

Devilled eggs are so versatile. You can make them as an appetizer or you can eat them with dinner. Plus, there are so many different ways you can make them.
4. Charcuterie Board Recipe

I’ve always been a fan of a charcuterie boards. I love cheese, I love meat, and olives, and crackers. It’s a tasty, savory, way to get a nice snack before supper. You can add whatever you want to yours.
5. Antipasto on a Stick Recipe

Antipasto on a stick is tasty and looks so nice. Enjoy some mozzarella, meat, olives, artichokes and tomatoes. They’re so flavorful and savory.

A ham is typically what my family does. We like to cook it at low heat for a long period so it’s tender and fall apart. And we will use a jelly glaze. But you can use pineapples, brown sugar, whatever you like.
7. Turkey Recipe

Growing up, we would do a turkey for Easter. Sure, we typically eat Turkey for Thanksgiving, but turkey for Easter works great too! Everyone likes turkey leftovers too.
8. Roasted Chicken Recipe

Roasted chicken is a great option especially if you have a smaller to medium sized family. You can roast an entire chicken and enjoy that on Easter. You’ll have plenty of food to go around with: 2 legs, 2 thighs, 2 breasts, and 2 wings.
9. Rack of Lamb Recipe

Rack of lamb is definitely a more expensive option, but lamb makes sense on Easter in a way. Plus, it’s a rich delicious red meat that will definitely hit the spot. Pair it with a chutney or an herb rub or pesto, yum!
10. Salmon Recipe

If you’re looking for something on the lighter side, salmon is a great option. There are so many great salmon recipes out there and you can make quite a bit of it at once if you use the oven.

My mom made the best au gratin potatoes. Cheesy, buttery, delicious potatoes really hit the spot. These au gratin potatoes will go well with pretty much any of the entrees mentioned above.

We always do roasted carrots. Roasted thyme carrots are earthy, salty, and fresh and can pair nicely with most meets. Plus, they have a nice natural sweetness to them. It’s a satisfying side.
13. Southern Green Beans Recipe

Southern green beans are another side dish we do for every holiday. If you’ve never have had them, southern green beans have butter, bacon, onions, garlic, and they’re soooo good! They’re rich, but will go well with pretty much any main dish.
14. Broccoli Casserole Recipe

Collard greens are so tasty and I feel like kind of underrated. They’re slightly bitter, earthy, and hearty. Add in some smoked turkey leg meat and you have a great savory smoky side dish.

These resurrection rolls are sweet and a great way for kids to kind of understand the resurrection a bit better. The rolls are full when you cook them, but are empty when they’re done. Just like Jesus’ tomb.

My youngest sister was a carrot cake fan. It’s spicy, sweet, with tangy cream cheese frosting. This would be a great dessert after a big dinner.
23. Lemon Meringue Pie Recipe

My father-in-law has to have his lemon meringue pie every Easter. It’s not Easter for him without it. It’s sweet, tangy, and topped with meringue. I love meringue. But this would be perfect after a large dinner.

Just like my father-in-law has to have his lemon meringue pie, my mother-in-law needs Jell-O every Easter. This year, this is the Jell-O dish that is being made. We’re definitely excited to try this Jell-O stained glass cake and it looks so pretty.
