Venison Stuffed Shells

I went through a kick where I was making a lot of homemade cheese. I made farmhouse cheese and mozzarella and they were delicious…but I had a ton of cheese. So, I needed to use it up. And I had a freezer full of venison. I wanted to make something special for my husband and I realized I hadn’t made manicotti in a while. However, I assumed it would be difficult to put meat and cheese in a manicotti noodle, so stuffed shells it was! And boy, it was good! We LOVED the leftovers. The stuffed shells were so good and I hope your family loved them as much as mine did.

How To Store Leftover Venison Stuffed Shells?

Store your leftover venison stuffed shells in an airtight container or a freezer bag depending on whether you’re putting the shells in the fridge or freezer. If you are putting them in a freezer bag make sure you get rid as much air as possible. More air in the bag means a higher chance of freezer burn and no one wants that.

How Long Will Leftover Venison Stuffed Shells Last?

If you have leftover venison stuffed shells then you can store them in the fridge for up to 3 days. If you’re going to freeze your leftovers then they will last up to a month in the freezer. However, understand that the cheese will be a little crumblier if you’re using homemade cheese. If you freeze store bought cheese, I think will be fine as it has a lot of products in it to keep it good.

How Do You Reheat Venison Stuffed Shells In The Oven?

If you’re ready to chow down on some leftover venison stuffed shells then place some aluminum foil over your pan. Reheat at 350 F for 15 minutes. I would probably check around the 10 minute mark, especially if your oven runs hot.

How Long To Reheat Venison Stuffed Shells In The Microwave?

Don’t wanna deal with the oven? That’s fine! You can reheat your venison stuffed shells in the microwave. Microwave them for about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. I would suggest a microwave cover so that the sauce doesn’t splatter. Nobody likes a messy microwave.

What Goes Good With Venison Stuffed Shells?

Want to make your venison stuffed shells go further or be a more completed meal? Then these sides will go well with your stuffed shells. You should try these sides with your venison stuffed shells:

  • Caesar Salad
  • Simple Salad
  • Garlic Bread
  • Butter and Rolls
  • Green Beans
  • Stuffed Mushrooms
  • Sautéed Zucchini
  • Lemon Kale Salad
  • Spinach with Butter and Parmesan
  • Grilled Eggplant
  • Roasted Pepper Salad
  • Roasted Broccoli with Garlic

Breads, salads, and generally green or just vegetables in general go well with this meal. And these options are a great way to make your pasta go a little further whether you’re serving guests or a large family.

If you’re going the bread route I would go with sliced baguette or French bread. You can make a copycat Carrabba’s bread dip for it or add butter or make garlic bread. Also, warm dinner rolls also would go well.
